As one well known comic artist has already sadly put it, it feels like 2016 is being written by George R.R. Martin.
Following quickly on the heels of music greats David Bowie and Merle Haggard, it has been reported that “Purple Rain” singer Prince has passed away at his Paisley Park residence near Hennepin County, Minnesota. Real estate agents in Minnesota would love to get their hands on that listing!
The singer’s home was located inside his music studio complex, which was completed in 1988 and which has been Prince’s sole residence since 2013.
Prince always considered Chanhassen, a suburb about 20 minutes outside of Minneapolis, to be his primary home.He owned the famous “Purple House” on Kiowa Trail by Prior Lake, and then another residence and studio on Galpin; sadly, both houses no longer exist.
The singer’s former secondary residence in Beverly Hills is still standing; in fact, it recently changed hands for $5.5 million.
Also still in existence is the Minneapolis house used in the movie “Purple Rain”; it was on the market as recently as July, 2015.
The singer, who was well known for his charity work in partnership with Elton John’s AIDS Foundation, The Jazz Foundation of America, and City of Hope, was 57. He will be sorely missed.
