Definition of "Liability, criminal"
Wrong against the government or society as a whole. An individual representing the state (usually the district attorney) brings an action on behalf of the state against an individual (s) or entity who has broken a criminal (non-civil) law. Insurance is not designed to cover criminal liability; to do so would encourage criminal behavior.
